THE PENG GROUP

Welcome to the PENG group at the City University of Hong Kong. Our research aims at bridging fundamental and applied aspects in Surface Chemistry and Catalysis; Work involves the synthesis, characterization, and testing of novel nanomaterials for a wide range of catalytic applications. Different from other groups, special attention will be focused on the Surface Characterization using Probe-assisted NMR for active site identification, mechanism understanding, and the rational design of new nanocatalysts. We use a lot of well-defined faceted nanocrystallites, layer structures, and nanomaterials as building blocks for the synthesis of novel functional materials, including the design of single-atom catalysts.
